Today was Connecticut's youth hunter day. Every year the state sets aside a few days for junior hunters before the turkey, waterfowl, and deer seasons open. During these day Junior hunters are allowed to go out with an adult and hunt! I like the idea that the kids get first cracks at it. Well Today Rudy A. and Savage ED took Lolly out. And she got a deer!
That is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteNice job Lolly.
Tell the young lady that an old curmudgeon said "Congratulations!"
ReplyDeletedid she just shoot bambi?
ReplyDeleteBlake, yep, dead bambi. Ed and Mr. Smythe, i will high five her when she steps down off cloud 9, should be several weeks.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lolly.
A tradition has started.
Thanks to all involved.
Brk Trt, thanks, she is very happy about the whole thing. Last night, while i was working, they cooked up some freshly cut yearling chops. I could not be happier for her. I really think getting your first deer is a major water shed moment in an outdoors man/womans life.
ReplyDeletecongrats to Lolly on here deer and thanks to Rudy and Ed for sharing the passion with the kids. That smile makes everything right. Kaleigh and I were out Saturday but no luck for us, but we did have some laughs and then finished up the venison steaks from last season.

Passinthru, i am sure your daughter will make up for it on some ducks. When i look back at it think the laughs and company are what it is all about.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Lolly on a very nice harvest, great job.
ReplyDeleteRick, thank you, and we are looking forward to many, many cookouts this winter.
