Summer Eats!

I think the best part of summer is the fresh garden tomatoes!
My mom grows and extensive garden every year  filled with Tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, eggplant, and string beans.  Today after i washed the boat down and stowed my fly rods i decided to tap into the ample supply of garden goodness.  My haul was a couple of tomatoes, 2 cucumbers, and a bag of string beans.   On my way home i rounded out the feast by stopping at a farmers market picking up a nice fresh water melon!

I had some chicken scraps left over from the other night so i put them on some honey wheat bread from Pepper Ridge Farms and topped it off with some Swiss Cheese and Several slices of Garden Tomato.  A couple slices of Water Melon, a cold beer and a napkin was all that was left.  Summer can't get any better than that!

  1. Yes sir.
Cooking is another of my enjoyments, and native tomatos, made into a pasta sauce, with a fine loaf of bread is one of lifes simple pleasures.

    Nice photos.
